Iconic .... Historic Montreal
A.T and Birdie got together at Ma Bicyclette, (forgetting the it is closed on Mondays) for a ride around Montreal looking at iconic / historic features of Montreal.
At first A.T. suggested we head over to the Miron Quarry, but after riding down to Old Montreal, decided that the Junko statue near the Olympic Stadium might be a better choice.
It is iconic Montreal....protest signs demanding a brown field be turned into a park beneath a work of a famous artist.
Iconic Montreal is conveniently located near to Historic Montreal, site of the 1976 Olympics. It is presently a monument to excess use of concrete.
Also nearby is another historic Montreal icon....The Angus Yards, which we stopped for coffee and discussions of the future of the city. It was rather engrossing and A.T. neglected to take any photos.
Then it was over the mountain, and back home.....
