Early Skiing on Mont Royal

An early snowfall gave the MBC the opportunity to rest the bikes and put on skis!   The MBC was called to order at Smith House on Mont Royal mid morning of the 13th of November.    Present were A.T. Lane, W.G. Ross with his wife Sally, and H.S. Tibbs.    Discussion digressed to consideration of exploring the snowshoe  trails in addition to the X-C skiing trails of the 'mountain' later in the winter.

But this day was for skiing.    So A.T. and Tibbs set out into the brisk sunny weather to track their way in an initial round-about of the mountain.    Excellent snow cover was found everywhere except within the bridge tunnel.   They skied the upper summit around the cross, along the ridge overlooking downtown, a tour of Beaver Lake with its chalet.   The artificial skating next to Beaver Lake was still under snow but inventory activity was happening at the rental shop.   The mountain will soon become a hive of learning winter sports for young scholars.
