17 June Bridges and Alternatives

Due the hot weather Dorothy suggested starting the ride at 8:00 am from the Shaika Cafe rather than 9:00.  Duly informed, the three members set out to the South Shore taking pictures of bridges along the way.

Shortly after 9:00 am, while admiring the Victoria Bridge, near the St Lambert Locks A.T. received from Louis who was waiting at the Shaika Cafe for his arrival at the old time.  A.T. excused himself for the mix up about the time and Louis led the 9:00 team on an alternate route.

The early bird team continued on past the Olympic Rowing Basin,

continued past the Jacques Cartier Bridge,

saying a final goodbye to the rowing basin,

then some cycling along the South Shore,

before seeing the Champlain bridges, new and old.

Taking a few pictures from below the bridge.

They continued up and over the bridge.

Stopping only to note how popular it is to take a picture of the bridge.

G.T. scouted out a newly opened portion of the connecting path on Nun's Island.

Only sort of opened, as it turned out.

A few remaining bridges leaving Nun's Island.

Dorothy finds an old acquaintance.

G.T. Bishop, the club Flag Bearer, takes note of alternative bicycle mounted Montreal flags.

A few final bridges before breaking up.
