Louis in spirit

At the special request of Louis who had relatives in town, a Fixture ride was scheduled for today with a route passing over the Samuel de Champlain bridge. Unfortunately, Louis could not attend but G.T. Bishop and Dorothy Cole carried the mantle for the day with Louis accompanying the members in spirit.

Once over the bridge, we proceeded to St. Lambert for a pleasant coffee stop at the Café Pistache. The conversation of full of talk of bike trips of days gone by in this era where we can only imagine riding along the scenic roads of PEI or through the Tuscan countryside or down the coast of California.

Re-fueled, we headed for the bridge at St. Lambert as Dorothy thought it would be open. As is often the case, it was not so we turned around and headed back to the Champlain bridge in order to get back to Montreal in time for Dorothy's bridge game. Definitely, a day of bridges.

We parted ways at the Atwater Market having spent a pleasant three hours pedaling away and keeping the spirit of Louis alive.

G.T. Bishop
