6 october 2021 Urban Ramble

 

An ad hoc fixture was cobbled together quickly to celebrate the warm Fall afternoon. First billed as a mystery ride with A.T. Lane, the fixture became an urban ramble of Montreal essentials – the emerging Rue St-Jacques cycle path, Lachine Canal, Vieux Port, the former Place Viger Hotel and railway station, rue Notre-Dame Est cycle path, Angus Shops redevelopment (Technopôle Angus) and an amazingly comfortable ride across busy rush hour Montreal on dedicated cycle paths, immune from the threat of anxious drivers.

 

Dorothy Cole broke away early for an afternoon bridge game and A.T. Lane couldn’t finish the ride due to a jammed chain. Left leaderless, Louis Rubenstein, Birdie Munger, Joanna and David made their way home in a most congenial manner.
