Toronto Smorgasbord of Transit

A.T. took a solo trip to Toronto in early January using a variety of different transport.

After picking up a senior Presto card at Union Station he could now get the discount rate on public transit on many Ontario regions.  This was his first visit to Toronto since the pandemic and he was happy to see that this portion of Yonge north of Bloor now has bike lanes.

On the second day he rode his preferred method, the streetcar, on St Clair to the Yonge Subway line.

Again he was pleased to report that Yonge near St Clair now has a bike lane.

Traveling to visit Disraeli's home in Richmond Hill North of Toronto he was also pleased to report that Yonge street north of Finch now has a Bus Rapid Transit line.

With convenient access to Disraeli's home...

After spending some time catching up with Disreali A.T. returned to Toronto and dinner that night with Elsa von Blume, aka his sister Karen and Husband Bob.

The next morning they headed out for a winter bike ride and pick up various items around the city.

That afternoon F.M.S. Jenkins arrived into Toronto on a train from Stratford to visit .  He and A.T. had dinner together.

The following day they rented Toronto Public Bikes (Bixis), which remain open all year and took a second tour of the city.

  1. I take it that the cycling bridge is along the water front but where exactly? and...what would you say the length of the bridge is? Good reporting, excellent photos
