27 April 2023 Around The Mountain

The MBC had an Around the Mountain Ride (a term used in some 19th century MBC Fixtures).  They arranged to meet at Ma Bicycette.

A.T. had some sad news, he would not be able to join the rest of the group on the upcoming Passau - Vienna ride.

Having reflected on that for a few minutes, the group set off for the Around the Mountain ride by first heading East along the Lachine Canal path.

While riding along the path they noticed a driver-less REM train in motion for the first time.  The REM is due to start operations in a vaguely set timetable later this spring.

The train was surprisingly noisy.  Something that appeared in the news that day.

Riding through Old Montreal A.T. mentioned to Louis to take note how different this section of town is from the Pedestrian only Medieval section of Vienna.

They continued on to the St Denis REV, A.T. wanting some photos for comparison.

Of course a second coffee stop, this time at the Cafe  Olimpico.

In order to get into the picture, A.T. had set the camera for a 10 sec delay.  Of course he forgot to remove that and not further photos of the ride were taken.  However there is Map My Tracks of the route:

After the Cafe Olimpico they headed West, passing through TMR.  A.T. also wanted to take a look at Girouard Park to see where they could set up banner for the Sherbrooke REV e .  As fortune would have it a CBC crew was at the ready to interview us there.
