A. T. Lane and G. T. Bishop hopped on the EXO train to Ste Therese for the perennial favourite ride of the Seigneurie des Plaines (https://seigneuriedp.org/carte/).
G. T. was docked points for being out of uniform having left his jersey in the UK for future overseas fixtures but the points were re-instated when he acquired a new jersey from club president, A. T.
The requisite cafe stop in Ste Therese was excellent, as usual, and set the members up for the ride towards the start of the path.
A. T. took an alternate route around the ponds, which was lovely. No birds to be seen but a couple of turtles were spied at a distance and a school of catfish played beneath the bridge.
Before long, the members were in Ste Anne and looking for the next cafe stop.
Seemingly foiled by the Construction Holiday, the members carried on but were fortunate to chance upon another little cafe. They were shortly joined by an army of MAMILS (Middle Aged Men in Lycra) on very expensive bikes. Sensing that their steeds were not up to comparison, the members beat a quick retreat.
Eschewing the traditional route to Laval, A. T. proposed heading to Terrebonne for the lunch stop and then crossing into Laval at the east portion.
After a pleasant stop in the park, the day was heating up and the members headed for the bridge and made a speedy ride south through Laval to the 25 Toll bridge (no toll for cyclists!).
With the sun sapping their energies, it was decided to make one final feed stop at the cafe at Parc de l'ile de la Visitation. On the way, A. T., keen birder that he is, caught sight of an unusual feathered creature.
A. T. subsequently found out that it was a Black Crowned Night Heron.
Revived once again, the members made the final push towards the St. Denis REV and parted ways around Boulevard St. Joseph as A. T. stopped to admire the poster art.
Total distance for the day was between 73K and 80K depending on the starting point.
