Spring REM Ready or Not?

This post commentary is provided by Louis Rubenstein with pictures by G.T. Bishop

While  the April 2 confrontation regarding bikes on trains was taking place vs Via Rail, championed by AT Lane and Birdie Munger, 3 other Wisemen, namely GT Bishop, Karl Krone and Louis Rubenstein,  had a mission to assess the progress of the on-island REM stations and infrastructure.  There were many areas that seemed to have been mainly motivated by desires to increase the cost - as was the entire REM - but these criticisms were not emphasized as there is obviously no way decrease such extravagance at this stage - and we gotta be positive!

GT's prowess as a guide was again exemplary as what was supposed to be a warm day did not materialize but the muddy terrain and fierce wind in our faces did not deter these 3 warriors.  Stations l'Ance a Lorme,  Kirkland, Fairview, Technoparc were all visited. Bois Franc was not accessible.

PS (by G.T.) The fixture began on the EXO train starting from Vendome (G.T.) and Montreal West (Louis and WG) to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Coffee break was at the Timmy's by the Kirkland REM station. Total distance 47K for those that cycled all the way and somewhat less for those that jumped ship at Cote Vertu Metro station.
