March 27, 2021, South Shore REM Station

Eight  bicyclists who are big supporters of public transit and self propelled travel gather to depart
on a tour to visit  the construction site of the new station for the South  Shore portion of the REM.  It is basically the Deux-Montagnes train from Central Station to Deux-Montagnes  (open since 1917 and now closed for 2 years) plus an arm that goes to the airport and one that goes to Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.

Ready to head south on this temperature dropping  day.

Our route 42 kms,  4 hours

Reaching  the  heights  of the Champlain bridge

Enjoying the St Lawrence River view from the heights

Entering an  iconic Canadian construction zone

The  new Du Quartier Rem station

   Nearby Solar village under construction

Daisy Bell is happy with her speedy new bike

A lot of  nationalist colour along the way enjoying the day.

As Louis Rubinstein likes to say "Home again, Home Again, Jiggedyjig"
