28 November 2022 New Ave des Pins Bike Path and other items
A.T. Lane and G.T. Bishop were to meet at the Presse Cafe across from the Royal Montreal Curling Club to look over and discuss the new bike path on Ave des Pins. Unfortunately, the current status of the Presse Cafe brought back bad memories to G.T. and we actually started out from further down the street at Java U.
After a short ride through downtown, we paused to comment upon the long pedestrianized Prince Arthur Street which has provided a rogue cycling connection between St Denis and the McGill ghetto.
Coming upon Ave des Pins, we discussed how they built the level of the intersections, the addition of garden space, how the school zone speed limit is posted, and the possibility of adding 4 way pedestrian lights to calm traffic. In all the street is a great improvement over what was there before.
Minutes were then discussed over coffee.....topics in addition to Ave des Pins included European Bike trip, AGM meeting, and a MBC video series.
Great reporting. Everyone must be pleased about the Pins protected cycling path. It was very unpleasant for years. Does it continue to the Parc-Pins intersection?
