I am amazed how members of the Montreal Bike Club get around. Their jersey was even spotted in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, which was originally known as Salt Lick Creek due to a salt lick that was located approximately four miles northwest of the town. Salt licks played a critical role in the early settlement of Middle Tennessee by American Indians and settlers. The numerous salt licks in the area, such as French Lick aka Nashville, attracted extensive game animals. In early twentieth century the mineral springs made Red Boiling Springs into a popular tourist retreat. Unfortunately, that attraction didn’t last. It is now a sleepy backroads destination, the kind that the FOGBEE bicyclists love. Every year since 2007, they rent out the Amour Hotel and nearby Thomas House and Donoho Hotel for their traditional Fall Colors weekend Tour. https://fogbees.shutterfly.com/rbs
