The Fixture ride began at the Shaika with with A.T. Lane, Louis Rubenstein, and G.T. Bishop Ian,
in attendance and greeted by a new wannabee Steve (still lacking a Sobriquet) who hails from
Victoria but prefers to spend winters in Montreal. This unusual
preference was welcomed and indeed inspiring as he showed a delight for
x-country skiing as well as snowshoeing - attributes that are much
sought after by the membership committee.
Next we discussed the election results: blah blah, blah.
A
discussion then ensued about the REM and it was decided that Ron would
doctor up the maps as he has a special skill with Jpeg etc. Hopefully
these maps will persuade Valerie Plante, who will be attending a meeting
with some of the members on Oct 23, to abort or at least delay the
REM. We then ventured out on a very pleasant mid morning ride along the
Canal to le Vieux-Port and noted 2 cruise ships in waiting. We headed
back to the de Maisonneuve bike path and stopped at Marche Maisonneuve
which appears to be a museum of some sort.
We continued to the Olympic
Stadium/Velodrome/Stad Saputo then along Rachel to Velo-Quebec for
nourishment. The 3 remaining members then separated and took separate
routes home.
It was suggested by some of the Fogbees to include some more photos of this exhibit here are some of my favorites:
