South Shore Bridges Loop

Mural showing Jacques Cartier Bridge under attack

Because of the coronavirus H.S. Tibbs and A.T. Lane met at the corner of Kensington and de Maisonneuve, rather than of their usual cafe in order to avoid public gatherings. It seems that they were not the only people concerned about this judging from the empty streets in downtown Montreal.

The reason for this trip was to be among the first to cycle over both the recently re-opened Jacques Cartier Bridge and the new Champlain Bridge on the same day.

At the far end of the bridge we came across this interesting mural.

Along the way on the South Shore we noticed that the gasoline price was very low.

Out of curiosity we looked to see if the St Lambert Lock was open to cyclists yet.

However it seemed a rather good spot to stop for hot drinks and sandwiches.

We continued on then returned on the Champlain Bridge, passing by the Lachine Canal Path at Atwater Market.
