Winter Exploring of the South Shore

The members met for an introductory coffee at the Shaika and after a short tune up for Louis's bike, three of them headed for the Champlain bridge to see what the winter paths were like on the South Shore.

There were the usual problems of the Lachine canal path near Atwater market. But once upon the Atawter footbridge the paths were clear to the Champlain Bridge.

After taking a few photos on the bridge, I must have moved the settings knob on the camera!

Posing for "improved" settings....

Once on the South Shore, the paths near the bridge are quite good.

But after a while they summer bike paths disappear and the regular roads are the only choice.  Roman went as far as the St Lambert Locks then turned back.  A.T & Louis continued on a bit further and took the metro back to Montreal.

  1. Brave souls. I vaguely remember riding over patches of ice back in the last millennium when I could fall and expect to get up again.
