Ice Skating / Patinage : Lachine

 

    H.S. Tibbs who admittedly has been a bit of stick-in-the-mud this past year, having attended less than a handful MBC events, did represent the club in what Scandinavian countries call "wild ice" skating.  This all happened in Lachine, a riverside borough of Montreal just before New Year's Day.    Near its old town there is a narrow winding canal.   Beyond that is a wider marina area.    Both are part of the St Lawrence river above the famous Lachine rapids.

      H.S. Tibbs, qui a certes été un peu absent cette année pour des événements MBC, a bien représenté le club dans ce que les pays scandinaves appellent le patinage sur "glace sauvage".   Tout cela s’est produit à Lachine, un arrondissement riverain de Montréal juste avant le Jour de l'An.    Près de sa vieille ville, il y a un étroit canal.   Au-delà, il y a une zone de marina plus large.    Tous deux font partie du fleuve Saint-Laurent au-dessus des célèbres rapides de Lachine.
