A walk during Covid 19
Just wanting to get outside, and lacking a mercy delivery of essential medical needs. I started walking up the hill towards Mont Royal. First passing the police station then going up the staircase at the end of the street.
Police Station |
Staircase at end of street |
One of the first plants to appear the spring are these little blue flowers in lawns by the road.
Above the houses are the Trafalgar Apartments.
Something I never noticed before today is the wooden arbor located right beside the bus stop at the corner of The Boulevard and Côte-des-Neiges.
Passing Beaver lake, some sculptures and Smith House.
The parking lot near Smith House was closed in order to discourage crowds in the park.
I thought of walking through Mont Royal cemetery to try to find A.T. Lane's grave, but found that it is closed.
So I walked along Camillien Houde and looked at the cemetery and some ice on the rock cut.
The rock cut and road replaces a street car and tunnel that used to be here.
Maybe they could put it back someday.
On the far side of the former tunnel, is a parking lot for cars to stop and look out over the eastern part of the city. The parking lot of course is closed.
There is a footpath at the far end of the parking lot. I've never been down that before!!!! I wonder where it goes?
The path goes down to the Couvnet de Marie Reparatrice. I tried to find something about the building on Google but came up short.
It is only a short walk for there to the Louis Rubenstein Memorial Water fountain and Bixi stand.
