4 September 2021 Île Saint-Bernard

The members gathered in Lachine for the ferry to Île Saint-Bernard.  This fixture was to be unusual in that it did not involve a bike ride but rather a nature walk and bird watching.

While on the water A.T. looked for subjects to try out the camera.

As we approached Île Saint-Bernard, at long last there appeared bird subjects in the form of the Great Egret (yellow bill, black feet) not the Snowy Egret (black bill yellow feet).

Scanning the wooded shoreline, I luckily photographed a Belted Kingfisher.  It was a new species for me to add to the list.

There was also the Heron as well birders on Paddle boards.

Once on the island, we headed to straight for the cafe.

Then passing the apple orchard, and the wild berries,we headed out on the trails.

Birds are not the only form of wildlife to see on the island.

Even the gulls can look good in the right setting...

Along with the other usual suspects...

Some interesting views of the city from the island.

Soon it was time time to head back to catch the return ferry...
