9-10 September 2021 Overnight at Mont Tremblant

A.T. and Dorothy met early in the morning at the Vendome Station for what was to be for both, the first overnight trip out of Montreal since the start of Covid.

After some reading on the train, they disembarked at St Jerome and immediately headed for breakfast and coffee.

The route halfway point, Val David, is familiar territory and we stopped only briefly to take a few photos.

Surprisingly upon arrival at Val-David we found that many of our frequently used restaurants were closed on weekdays.  It seems that a labour shortage has hit the Laurentians.  Thankfully we had both packed a lunch.

Headed North again, A.T. added to his bird photo list.  He is always disappointed  when he finds that the new species name begins with the word  Common.

Common Merganser

Undeterred by the word common, he continued to take photos, and was rewarded by rather tall heron.

Upon entering the region defined as Mont Tremblant, the path is again asphalted and headed North, all downhill.

Dinner that night included a discussion with the neighboring table about Go Kart racing and watching our girl's from Montreal progress at the tennis U.S. Open.

The next day, after a short tour Mont Tremblant we headed south again.

Along the way South A.T. spotted a Erie Canal license plate on a bicycle and took a conversation with J.D. He was traveling with fellow Americans Bob & Mary. We all had lunch together at Val David.

Parting ways after lunch we headed back to St Jerome, catching a train back to Montreal.
