Sept. 3rd Pointe Aux Trembles River Ferry, North Shore and Back to Montreal

Pointe Aux Trembles River Ferry Expedition

Repentigny Terrebonne route approximately  85 kms

We headed  out from the  Shaika Cafe at 9:00 am sharp to catch the 10:00 Navark ferry at the Old Port going to  PointeTrembles before it suspends operation for the season.

On arrival,  after visiting the park at the end of Montreal island the group split in two. A.T. Lane, Birdie Munger, Louis Rubenstein, Laura Snowball and Johanna chose to ride through Repentigny and Terrebonne back to Montreal. Dorothy Cole, Alice Hawkins and Anne returned via Gouin Blvd along the back river.

Arrival at Pointe aux Trembles

We past by new construction of bicycle paths

In addition to new bike paths in the area we noticed a newly built look out over the river.

We went to the park at the eastern tip of the island.  Unfortunately it seems that some of the famous Gnomes have gone missing.  At least the tree that marks the end of the island is still there.

We gathered for the last time before splitting into two groups.

Finding a nice spot by the river, we stopped for our first lunch

Reaching Terrebonne we decided it was time for a second lunch

After lunch, we did a short tour of Terrebonne, then continued on the now familiar paths towards Montreal.

Upon reaching the island of Montreal again the group fanned out as each made a separate pathway home.

Minutes originally created by Laura Snowball but due to the summer heat and some unrecoverable accidental deletions by A.T. he had to redo the melted portion.
