3 July Oslo to Kirkenes

 The following day we took a ferry across the harbor to Bydgøy, which has the Kon Tiki and Fram museums.

 

The Kon Tiki Museum has the original balsa wood raft.

As well as a large assortment of items documenting the life of Thor Heyerdahl.

We also had a short visit to the Fram Museum of Polar Exploration, which is next door to the Kon Tiki. The Fram is a famous wooden ship that explored regions of the Arctic and Antarctic.

 

Museum'd out, we took a series of ferries, trams and trains out to the airport and flew to Kirkenes.

That night, outside the hotel in Kirkenes we observed the midnight sun.
