4 July Hurtigruten Departure from Kirkenes

 We walked form the Kirkenes Hotel to the Hutigruten dock.

 

We soon settled in,

 and that evening had our first stop at Vardø.

We passed by the town's fort.... 

And took a closer look at the memorial to the witches that were burned here in the 1600's.

 

Each witch burned has a sign listing her "crimes".

 At the end is a glass building which encloses a chair with an eternal flame.
