21 May 2020 Champlain Bridge to St Jean

Participants: G.T. BishopA.T. Lane, Mile A Minute Murphy & Jake

Map of A.T. Lane's route

Meeting at the entrance to the Champlain Bridge, the members were warned that route from that point to St Jean was as yet unexplored. Undaunted they headed out across the bridge.

Entering Brossard, A.T. admired how colour co-ordinated the jerseys and the wild flower were among some members.

A first attempt finding a pass through the unknown woods led by A.T. ended in bullrushes.

Flag Bearer G.T. Bishop saved the day, leading us to St Jean with the bonus of finding windmills, Acadian heritage, and a race with a train along the way.

The train race was very exhausting, and the lunch break at St Jean was well received.

Before the return run could begin, we had to find a bridge over to the Chambly canal bike path.

It was clear sailing to the next rest stop.

Then a short run back to Montreal.

P.S.

This ride takes my Eddington Number from 48 to 49.  The spreadsheet of my rides shows that to make the Eddington number of 50 I need 7 rides of over 50 miles each.
