Point Claire or Ste Anne

After properly distanced meeting at the Fur Trading Museum in Lachine the group headed west towards Pointe Claire.  Although the ride destination was posted as Ste Anne, A.T. warned that he planned to get back early and turn back after Pointe Claire.  The three new female members, as yet with no Sobriquets assigned, were determined however to reach the western end of the island and selected John James Henry Strumey to be their guide beyond Pointe Claire, an assignment he graciously accepted.

Riding out to Pointe Claire we tried to avoid the heavy bicycle crowds that gather near the waterfront.

Approaching  the center of Pointe Claire, Lakeshore road was closed to car traffic, providing ample space for the cyclists and pedestrians to maintain a proper distance.

John James Henry Strumey boldly led the three women on to Ste Anne, as evidenced by the map he emailed to me later.

Meanwhile the more timid men, returned to Montreal, noting along the way some art work, a baby giraffe and the "Stairway to Heaven" beside some old Roman ruins.

Louis Rubenstein commented "At last, a long weekend so we can relax!"

P.S.

The balance of the ride went well.  Police barriers again in St Anne’s..where everything was closed including the boardwalk.. we stopped for lunch under the train bridge..We stopped at the church at Pointe Claire, and the 10 mile marker in Dorval avoiding the fully laden bike paths..at the Fur Museum we patted ourselves on the back and split 4 ways to our respective abodes..

New recruits delivered safely home...with smiles under their COVID masks
